On March 21st, the American Society of Civil Engineers Orange County Younger Member Forum (ASCE OC YMF) held its March General Meeting at Mark Thomas in Irvine, featuring a Finances 101 Workshop led by Brandon Kepley and Seth Walston from the Tax Financial Group (TFG). The workshop aimed to enhance financial literacy among young professionals by providing practical strategies for effective financial management.
Key topics included optimizing 401(k) and IRA contributions, innovative saving strategies, and budgeting techniques. Kepley and Walston emphasized the importance of maximizing employer matching contributions in retirement accounts and offered insights on tracking spending and adjusting budgets over time.
