BOARD MEMBERS

Adeleine is a Geotechnical Engineer at Jacobs' Irvine office. Adeleine earned her M.S. in GeoSystems / GeoEngineering and B.S. in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.

In her free time, she enjoys dancing, urban exploring, and trying out new restaurants and coffee shops. Adeleine has been in ASCE OC YMF since June 2017 and she is excited to continue expanding her network professionally and personally.

Brian is a Roadway/Highway Engineer I at HNTB. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB).

During his time at CSULB, he was involved in CSULB's student chapter of the ASCE, where he took on the board member positions of conference committee member and fundraising chair. As a board member, Brian aims to support the Long Beach student chapter and further connections between other YMF chapters through different events. In his free time, Brian enjoys running, watching movies, and reading.

Cedric received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at University of California, Irvine in 2024. He currently serves as the YMF Liaison for the ASCE UCI Student Chapter.

In his free time, Cedric enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves to be involved in professional organizations. His goal is to continue to build technical skills and professional relationships in the engineering workplace.

Danny graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2023, and is currently a Staff Engineer at Advanced Earth Sciences. As an undergraduate, Danny was an active member of the CSULB ASCE student chapter continuing their involvement after graduation through YMF University Outreach. Danny currently serves as K-12 Outreach Co-Chair. In their free time, Danny enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, and exploring and supporting their local Long Beach community.

Don is a Transportation Engineering Associate III at the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT). He received his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2019. Don has been involved in several mentorship programs at UCI and is currently one of the heads of LADOT's mentorship program. He enjoys encouraging the growth of the next generation and helping build their careers in transportation. In his free time, Don likes to travel, try out new restaurants, and read up on history.

Gabreelle graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a bachelor's in Civil Engineering. She currently works at the City of Anaheim as an Associate Engineer for Public Works Development Services.

Gabreelle began her involvement with OC YMF in 2015, post-graduation as the UC Irvine Liaison. Gabreelle enjoys providing support and resources to the student chapters, which is why she remained the University Outreach Chair up until 2021. Gabreelle served as 2022-2023 ASCE OC YMF President. She appreciates the opportunities OC YMF has given her over the years, in which she has made many great friends, grew her network, learned about the industry, and grown both personally and professionally.

Janelle graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2020. She currently works as roadway Design Engineer at Mark Thomas. During her undergraduate career, she was heavily involved in ASCE OC; serving as UCI’s student chapter president and volunteering in YMF and Branch committees. Following graduation, Janelle continues bridging the gap between student chapters and professionals by serving as University Outreach Chair. ASCE OC has provided Janelle with invaluable opportunities, resources, and relationships and she hopes to pay it forward by helping the next generation of civil engineers find their path in our industry.

Jonathan is a Designer III at LPA. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2022.

Judy is a Project Engineer at MKN & Associates. She earned her Environmental Engineering degree at UC Irvine. She became a member of ASCE during college and expanded her professional network through her continued involvement with the members. As a board member, her goal is to plan and coordinate EWRI events with the OC YMF chapter. In her free time, Judy enjoys playing video games, drawing, and spending time with her family and friends.

Kyra is a Civil Engineering Associate at LA Department of Water & Power in DTLA working in their Power Engineering Division. Kyra graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering and Mathematics and is currently pursuing her Masters in Construction Management at USC.

During college, Kyra was heavily involved in the CSULB chapter holding several positions including president and is now serving as the Website Co-Chair. Off the clock, Kyra enjoys building legos, playing Tetris, and traveling.

Melissa is a Capital Projects Coordinator at Port of Long Beach. She received her B.S. in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona where she was involved in ASCE, Concrete Canoe, and Phi Sigma Rho Sorority. Melissa has been involved with ASCE OC YMF since 2015 and has held various Board positions including serving on the ASCE OC Branch Professional Development Committee and ASCE OC YMF President (2020-2021).

Melissa enjoys being involved with ASCE because she is continuously inspired by her peers. She is passionate about helping foster the growth of young professionals and students in addition to finding innovative ways to get ASCE OC more involved in the local community. Some of Melissa's favorite activities are beach bike rides, dog watching, and trying to keep her house plants alive.

Sam is a Civil Engineering Associate working in the Inter-Agency Utility Coordination group at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. He is a Cal Poly Pomona alumni and received his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.

Sam is excited to continue his involvement in ASCE OC YMF, where he will be serving as this year’s External Activities Chair! On his free time, he enjoys to traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Alejandro has been involved with ASCE for three years while studying at California State University, Fullerton. He graduated in May 2024 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. Currently, he works as a Transportation Engineer I at Linscott Law & Greenspan, and is in his first year with YMF as a Liaison for CSUF.

One of his hobbies is rock climbing, and he goes about 2 to 4 times a week. He has three years of experience as a Field Engineer in construction, and he's really glad he decided to switch career paths!

Brisa recently graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering. She currently works at Diaz-Yourman & Associates as a Staff Geotechnical Engineer.

As an undergraduate student, Brisa served as the CSU Fullerton Student Chapter President and has been able to stay involved through YMF as CSUF Co-Practitioner Advisor, Communications Committee Co-Chair, and PSBC Co-Chair. Brisa enjoys traveling, sustainability, baking, and whimsical costumes. Brisa is passionate about encouraging girls to explore their own futures in STEM fields. She looks forward to all the year with YMF will bring.

Chris graduated from California State University Fullerton with his B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2024. He currently works as a transportation engineer at Caltrans. His experience includes airport construction, construction management, and traffic operations. During his time at CSUF, he was heavily involved in the ASCE student chapter as the Pacific Southwest Symposium chair, Steel Bridge captain, Transportation team member, and Environmental competition team member.

Chris enjoys playing basketball, collecting Legos, playing video games, traveling, exploring, hiking, and hanging out with friends. Besides these things, Chris is passionate about helping others and is grateful to be surrounded by amazing people who look to do the same.

Danny earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Cal State Long Beach and his M.S. in Water Resources/Environmental Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona.

Danny is a Project Engineer at AECOM and is currently working on wastewater treatment plant design, hydraulic modeling, and wastewater conveyance projects. ASCE helped him achieve his goals as a student, and now he volunteers with ASCE OC YMF as a professional to give back and help the next generation of young engineers. He's passionate about helping people in need and volunteers as much as he can to improving his community.

Elisa is a Civil Associate II at Michael Baker International. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at California State University, Fullerton in 2018. She also received her Master's Degree in Engineering/Industrial Management at California State University, Northridge in 2023.

Gilbert works in the Traffic Engineering Department at Michael Baker International in Santa Ana, California. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering at California State University, Long Beach in 2024.

Prior to joining YMF, he was active in the ASCE CSULB Student Chapter's PSWS teams and Associate Board. Outside of engineering, he loves to go on concerts, travel, and build LEGOs!

Joceline is a Civil Associate at Michael Baker International. She earned a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Irvine. In ASCE, she was involved as the fundraising chair and treasurer, managing the club's financial standing as well as planning new and fun strategies of fundraising. As a board member, her goals include successfully mentoring the new UCI board and networking with other early career professionals. In her free time, Joceline enjoys playing with her pets, walking, listening to music, and most importantly, sleeping.

Jonathan is a Civil Engineering graduate from CSULB with a strong interest in the transportation and traffic discipline. He recently passed the FE exam and will be applying for the EIT credential soon. He is excited to participate in ASCE this year and looks forward to helping out University Outreach in small, yet impactful ways!

Karen is a Civil Analyst in Transportation/TPTO at Kimley-Horn in Orange. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2023. As a student, Karen was heavily involved in ASCE since her first year of college and served as the ASCE UCI Student Chapter President in her senior year. Karen joined OC YMF to give back to the community by inspiring students and young professionals. Karen enjoys crocheting, playing badminton and tennis, and trying new foods/boba spots in her free time.

Marco is a Project Engineer at Clark Construction. Projects he has worked on include the SoFi Stadium FIFA field modifications and LACMA.

Marco Villegas graduated from CSU Northridge with a Bachelors Degree in Applied Mathematics in 2018 and CSU Long Beach with a Bachelors in Civil Engineering in 2022. During his time at Cal State Long Beach, Marco serving Fundraising Chair for their ASCE Chapter. He also served as CSULB Liaison for ASCE OC YMF in 2022-2023. In his free time he enjoys watching soccer, drinking wine and cooking.

Natalie is a Civil Engineering Associate at City of Los Angeles, Bureau of Engineering. She received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from California State University, Fullerton. She recently became involved with ASCE OC YMF and has found a passion for University outreach. She enjoys providing the student chapter with support and resources. Most of all, she enjoys empowering the students and encouraging their professional development. In her spare time, she relishes being outdoors, hiking, snowboarding, and is always trying new things.

Tanner works at AECOM and serves as the CSULB YMF Liaison. He graduated from California State University, Long Beach (Class of 2024). He is currently attending the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for his Masters Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.

His hobbies include hiking, bouldering, off-roading, and snowboarding. He is also a musician and loves to play jazz on his trombone. As a YMF liaison, he wants to guide undergraduate students in their tenure to achieve their goals and have as much fun doing so.

Alex is a Water Staff Engineer at AECOM in Orange. He has experience with various Surface Water Projects including Floodwalls, Storm Drain, and Dams and Reservoirs. Alex graduated from University of California, Irvine, with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an emphasis in Water Resources in 2023.

In college, Alex served as Professional Outreach cabinet member and External Vice President for the ASCE UCI Student Chapter. After graduating, Alex has been involved in OC YMF to expand his network and contribute his experiences and knowledge for both personal and engineering communities. Alex’s hobbies include: tennis, pickleball, watching engineering YouTube videos, and he is hoping to learn some golf.

Carlos currently serves as the Co-Liaison for the CSUF student chapter and is also an Engineer I at HNTB in DTLA.

Carlos was involved with organizations such as ASCE and ITE during his undergrad at CSUF and this inspired him to continue with transportation in his career path. During his free time, Carlos likes to go jogging and hiking along trails in Los Angeles.

Clarissa graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a bachelor's in Civil Engineering, specializing in Water Resources. After switching careers, she now works as a Product Designer at Parsons Corporation.

Clarissa has heavily been involved in the ASCE student chapter at UC Irvine and in ASCE OC YMF post-graduation, where she now serves as the Website Co-Chair. She hopes to contribute back to ASCE OC and help enhance the digital experience for both current and new ASCE members. When Clarissa is not working, she enjoys dancing, working out, and spending time with family and friends.

Darlyn was heavily involved in ASCE at UC Irvine and joined YMF after graduating to continue her involvement. As a student herself, Darlyn saw the great benefit OC YMF provides to the students and is passionate about providing the same benefits and opportunities to the new generation of students. As the UCI Practitioner Darlyn strives to keep communication transparent between ASCE Society and the UCI Student Chapter as well as providing any guidance on navigating the Civil Engineering Industry to the student chapters. When she's not planning or hosting a University Outreach event, Darlyn enjoys going to Disneyland, traveling, and growing her plant collection from local vendors.

Esmeralda received her B.S. in Civil Engineering from California State University, Long Beach, and is currently working at Jacobs as a Project Engineer in their Program & Construction Management Division.

Esmeralda joined ASCE OC YMF in 2018 and is super excited to contribute to the Civil Engineering profession in her community. ASCE has provided Esmeralda with opportunities of personal and professional development, and the chance to meet so many driven, like-minded individuals, which she now calls friends. In her spare time, Esmeralda enjoys visiting museums, riding her bike, and exploring new places.

Jacob is a Civil Engineering Associate at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power in DTLA, working in their Water Distribution Division - Resiliency and Water Loss Management Group.

Jacob graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and was actively involved in organizations on campus. He is excited to be involved with ASCE OC YMF this year and in the years to come. In his free time, Jacob loves to cycle, mountain bike, cook, and enjoy the great outdoors.

Jocelyn is a Civil Associate at Michael Baker International’s Structures Department. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). Jocelyn is also currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Civil Engineering at CSULB.

During undergrad, Jocelyn served as Pacific Southwest Symposium (PSWS) Co-Chair for the ASCE CSULB Student Chapter. She is now the Internal Activities Co-Chair for ASCE OC YMF.

Juan is a Design Engineer at Mark Thomas specialized in Transportation. While earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering at California State University, Long Beach, Juan interned with numerous companies, including Caltrans, Kimley-Horn, and the Long Beach Water Department.

Juan enjoys working with others on planning and executing impactful events for the surrounding community. Juan hopes to encourage future generations of students to pursue a career in STEM. During his free time, Juan enjoys traveling, listening to music, and riding his bike by the coast.

Kevin graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2023. He is currently a Design Engineer at Mark Thomas.

During his time at CSULB, he was heavily involved within the CSULB ASCE student chapter where he served as one of the Co-Presidents his senior year and as the membership chair & Timber-Strong Design Build Co-Project manager his junior year. Outside of engineering, Kevin enjoys photography, snowboarding, and traveling.

Matthew is a Construction Manager for the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering. He currently works at the Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant in El Segundo overseeing the construction of various wastewater projects throughout the plant. He received his Master's in Environmental Engineering from the University of Southern California in 2018 with an emphasis on water quality.

Matthew is involved with the University Outreach team and would like to continue expanding his involvement in OC YMF. He enjoys having the opportunity of meeting with the future of this industry through University Outreach and sharing his knowledge and experience gained during his professional experience.

Noelle is a Project Engineer at KPFF Consulting Engineers (Civil). Noelle Yee graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering in 2022.

During her time at Cal State Long Beach, Noelle served as Treasurer for their ASCE Student Chapter. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, traveling and hiking. She looks forward to communicating with you!

Tomas graduated from California State University Long Beach and currently works as a Project Consultant at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger.

Tomas started his involvement with ASCE OC YMF in 2022 as Internal Activities Co-Chair. He is passionate in helping others develop their professional careers. Tomas is excited to keep meeting new professionals and learning more about the industry, while hosting ASCE OC YMF activities.
